Penn Admissions Summer Tour Guide Application

General Description and Application Information
Please complete this application by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017.

As a tour guide, you are responsible for sharing the Penn student experience with visiting students and families.

Interviews
After submitting your application for review, you MUST sign up for an interview appointment for the week of April 17 or April 24. Interviews will last approximately 20 minutes and will be conducted by members of the Penn Admissions staff and/or current Admissions Student Workers or members of the Kite and Key Society. All interviews will take place in the Admissions Visit Center in 1 College Hall.

Hiring/Onboarding
Hiring decisions will be emailed to all applicants no later than Monday, May 1. New Admissions Summer Tour Guides must attend a mandatory training session during the first week of May; details forthcoming. 

Commitment
  • Full-term/part-time employment for:
    • Summer Session I (Mon, 5/22 to Wed, 6/27);
    • Summer Session II (Thurs, 6/28 to Fri, 8/4); or
    • Both terms (Mon, 5/22 to Fri, 8/4).
  • Opportunity to start early (May 16) or end late (August 22)
  • Minimum 3-5 tour shifts per week (~6-10 hours), with a set schedule each week
    • Available tour shifts are as follows:
      • Monday-Friday - Morning: 10:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
      • Monday-Friday - Afternoon: 2:45 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
      • Saturday - Morning: 10:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (beginning June 24) 
Special Note for International Students: Be sure to check with ISSS for immigration-related rules regarding your employment eligibility.
